Bengaluru: An 86-year-old man was killed after being knocked down by a KSRTC bus, which was allegedly speeding, in front of the RMC Yard police station on Tumakuru Road Sunday morning.The deceased, Doreswamy of Malleswaram, was crossing the road when the bus (KA-13-F-2362), bound for Hassan district, hit him. He suffered severe injuries and died on the spot. His daughter filed a complaint against the bus driver. A senior police officer said Doreswamy was on his way to the nearby market when the accident occurred.The driver told police he was driving in the extreme right lane when the pedestrian suddenly crossed the road. Yeshwantpur traffic police said the driver tested negative in an alcometer test. Passengers were shifted to other buses, the vehicle was seized, and further investigation is underway.
