BENGALURU: A woman jumped onto the track at Rajajinagar Metro station in Bengaluru on Saturday, briefly disrupting Metro services on the Green Line, officials said. The incident took place at around 12.25 pm, according to news agency PTI. According to officials, the woman was rescued safely without sustaining any injuries after the train driver, noticing her on the tracks ahead of the approaching train, immediately applied the brakes. The Emergency Trip System (ETS) was also activated as a precautionary measure. In a statement, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said the Station Controller and security personnel responded promptly and followed the prescribed emergency procedures. “The passenger was safely rescued without any injuries. Due to the incident, Metro services were delayed by approximately 10 minutes,” it said. BMRCL said normal train services resumed at 12.34 pm after the track was cleared and all required safety protocols were completed.
