BENGALURU: A group of bikers allegedly blocked the path of an ambulance carrying a patient while performing dangerous stunts on a city road in the early hours of July 4, prompting police to launch an investigation after a video of the incident surfaced online.The incident reportedly took place around 2.30 am on the stretch between Goraguntepalya and Yeshwanthpur. According to police, five to six bikers rode in front of the ambulance, performing wheelies and occupying the road even as the emergency vehicle’s siren blared.The entire episode was captured on the ambulance’s dashboard camera. The footage, which has since gone viral on social media, shows the ambulance struggling to get a clear passage while the bikers continued riding ahead. A patient can also be seen lying inside the ambulance.Police said they are examining CCTV footage from the area and analysing the dashcam video to identify the riders involved. A suo motu case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace the suspects.The incident has triggered widespread outrage on social media, with many users demanding strict action against the bikers for obstructing an emergency vehicle and endangering lives. Authorities said legal action will be initiated against those identified during the investigation.
