Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district unit of the BJP has praised the strong SSLC performance of coastal districts while criticising the leadership in Kalaburagi for its poor results, calling it a reflection of long-standing administrative failure. In a press release, the party said that the first and second ranks secured by Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, respectively, in the SSLC examination highlight the region’s commitment to education. Arun G Shet, spokesperson, Dakshina Kannada District BJP unit, congratulated students who passed the exam.At the same time, he criticised Kalaburagi district, represented by minister Priyank Kharge, for ranking last, terming it “regrettable.” Despite the constituency being represented by the family of Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge for over five decades, there has been no meaningful improvement in the education sector, exposing what it calls their “complete failure.” The party further accused the leadership of attempting to divert attention from the condition of their own district by repeatedly criticising the undivided Dakshina Kannada region and targeting organisations such as the RSS and other Hindutva groups. Shet said that while these organisations are working towards positive social change, continued criticism of them is unwarranted.
