Mangaluru: The body of 14-year-old Shreyas S Kumbara, who went missing after allegedly being swept away by strong waves while playing in the sea at Kurikatta, Panambur, on Sunday evening, was found at Hejamady beach in Padubidri police station limits on Tuesday. Shreyas, from Renkeda Guttu in Kasaba village, Belthangady taluk, had come to Mangaluru with four minor friends for Dasara tiger dance training. After the training, the boys went to Panambur and later Kurikatta around 4.30pm-5pm. Around 6pm, Shreyas reportedly slipped into the water and was swept away by strong waves. His friends did not inform his family immediately. His father, Seshappa, lodged a complaint with Panambur police on Monday morning after learning of the incident. The postmortem was completed and the body was handed over to the family.
