Mangaluru: E-ticketing kiosks launched to facilitate easy accessibility to tourists at the city’s Dr Shivarama Karantha Pilikula Nisargadhama were inaugurated by minister NS Boseraju on Wednesday. The centre, which is one of the major educational, scientific and tourist destinations in coastal Karnataka, currently depends on a physical ticketing system to grant entry to its various units. The project was implemented under the patronage of Canara Bank, and features a digital payment system, QR code-based ticketing, and self-service facilities.Under the new system, visitors can book tickets for all attractions inside the nisargadhama, or opt for separate tickets for individual facilities. Once the booking is completed, the ticket is instantly sent to the visitor’s WhatsApp number. Payments can be made through UPI applications, as well as credit and debit cards.During the booking process, visitors are required to provide their mobile number, to which the tickets will be delivered digitally. At the entrance of various attractions, the QR codes on the tickets will be scanned for entry.
