Bengaluru: An industrial accident at a casting unit in Bommasandra Industrial Area claimed the life of a 33-year-old machine operator, sparking allegations of negligence against the company management.According to a complaint filed by supervisor Mukti Newar, Khemlal Newar Pradhan, the victim, was working as a machine operator at Dimo Castings. Mukti is a relative of Khemlal, and both worked for the same firm. Khemlal was working near a die-casting machine around 2pm at the time of the incident. His head was crushed in the machine, leading to instant death, the complaint said.Mukti alleged Dimo Castings had failed to implement basic safety measures. “There were no adequate precautions or safeguards in place while operating such dangerous machinery,” the complaint stated, holding the company officials responsible for the lapse.Hebbagodi police registered a case under BNS Sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 289 (negligent conduct with respect to machinery).
