Mangaluru: The Government Toolroom and Training Centre (GTTC) in Mangaluru has received around 65% admission applications for diploma courses for the year 2026-27, while the rest of the seats are yet to be filled.Inviting for applications from interested students, Lakshminarayana CR , principal of GTTC, told the media on Friday, that the institute has around 150 seats out of which 100 are full.He said that courses offered by the institute are in demand, and many of their alumni are working in global companies.The centre located in Baikampady offers four year mechanical engineering related Diploma in Tool and Dye Making, Diploma in Precision Manufacturing, computer science related Diploma in AI and Machine Learning, and has several seats left.Tool and Dye Making and Precision Manufacturing diplomas are the courses in most demand at the institute.The principal said that several students lack awareness about the courses available at the institute, and said that there is a proposal for shifting the institute to near Mudipu.In addition, students have to complete a one-year mandatory internship with a stipend of Rs 18,000-23,000 in top companies. Students who passed matriculation are eligible for the course, a release stated.
