Elaborate arrangements for NEET re-exam
Udupi DC Swaroopa TK presides over a preparatory meeting organised on Thursday, regarding the smooth conduct of the NEET re-examination at the DC’s office in Udupi

Udupi: Deputy commissioner Swaroopa TK directed officials to make all necessary preparations to ensure the NEET-UG re-examination, scheduled for Sunday in the district, is conducted transparently and without technical glitches or lapses.She spoke while presiding over a preparatory meeting organised on Thursday at the deputy commissioner’s office, regarding the smooth conduct of the NEET re-examination. The NEET re-examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across a total of 6 exam centers in the district. A total 2,970 students—including 938 boys, 2,032 girls, 7 PwBD (persons with benchmark disabilities) candidates, and one candidate utilising a scribe facility—will be appearing for the examination. She emphasised that the exam process should be executed seamlessly to prevent any confusion among the students, and to create a stress-free environment for them to write the exam comfortably.The NEET re-examination will take place from 2pm to 5.15pm. Compared to the previous session, students have been given an additional 15 minutes this time. Candidates with disabilities will get an extra hour as per the regulations. Frisking and verification processes at the exam centers will be conducted from 11am to 1.30pm, after which students will be allowed into their respective classrooms. Students arriving late will strictly not be permitted to enter the exam centre, the DC said.Students appearing for the NEET are strictly prohibited from carrying electronic devices inside the examination centres, including mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, and earphones, as well as wallets and handbags. The deputy commissioner made CCTV installation mandatory at all examination centres.N Karim Khan, the principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Udupi and the district nodal officer for NEET, said re-examination will be held at Dr G Shankar Government Women’s First Grade College, Ajjarkadu, Viveka P.U. College, Kota, M.G.M. P.U. College, Udupi, Government PU Board, Udupi, Government Girls PU College, Udupi, and Government PU College, Brahmavar.He added that metal detectors have been installed by the National Testing Agency, and separate frisking arrangements have been made for boys and girls. Admission to the exam halls will only be permitted after successful biometric verification.
