Just when director Aditya Dhar had Indian fans counting down the days to the OTT release of his film ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, the official Netflix India handle on Thursday, shared a ‘Dhurandhar Raw and Undekha’ poster and announced its OTT release for May 22.

Fans react to post

It wasn’t long before the post created a frenzy among the audience as many assumed that the makers had advanced the India release date of the sequel ‘Dhurandhar The Revenge: Raw and Undekha’ which was announced for its India release on JioHotstar on June 4, followed by its release on Netflix India on June 19. Amid buzz that the sequel’s release was advanced by almost a month, netizens took to the comments section to clarify, “People in india don’t get too excited, this is uncensored version of part 1.Following the confusion about the post and the subsequent clarification, fans took to the comments to say, “Finally the uncensored and uncut version hopefully.” Another quipped, “Finally we can hear gali from akshy khanna.”

CBFC slammed for censoring ‘Dhurandhar’

This update comes at a time when the CBFC and filmmakers were facing flak for reportedly censoring the film in India, but allowing an ‘uncut’ and ‘un-censored’ version to play out in foreign countries. One tweeted, “A movie made for Indians, but only Indians get the censored version — while the rest of the world watches it Raw & Undekha. Truly protecting us from our own cinema.”‘Dhurandhar’ starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, premiered on Netflix on January 30, 2026 after scoring a record-breaking Rs 1,300 crore haul at the box office.
