Mangaluru: Dharmasthala police have registered a case regarding the alleged illegal construction of a building on land belonging to the Southadka temple in Belthangady taluk’s Kokkada village.Police said the complainant, Subrahmanya Shabaraya, an office bearer of the temple management committee, has accused Krishna Bhat, a resident of Kokkada, who had previously served as a temple office bearer, of illegally constructing a building on land reserved for the temple near its premises. The complainant alleged that the building was constructed without obtaining permission from the concerned departments or possessing valid documents.The complainant further claimed that leasing the building to shopkeepers had resulted in tenant-related activities that disrupted the public peace.
