Udupi: Udupi District Muslim Federation will honour multilingual film actor and social activist Prakash Raj with the ‘Manava Ratna’ award for 2025-26.The federation announced that its biennial award presentation ceremony and inter-community friendship convention will be held on Oct 31 at the Basel Mission Memorial Auditorium in Udupi. The event honours prominent individuals who have made unique contributions across various fields in society.Federation district president Muhammad Moula and immediate past president Yaseen Malpe said aiming to recognise and honour achievers with distinct contributions to society, the federation presents three prestigious awards every two years—‘Manava Ratna’, ‘Seva Ratna’, and ‘Souharda Ratna’. While ‘Manava Ratna’ award will be conferred on Prakash Raj, Seva Ratna award will be bestowed on NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist Hidayatulla Abbas, and the Souharda Ratna award will be given to senior activist, writer, and thinker Suresh Bhat Bakrabail.The awards will be presented to the three achievers by Udupi district minister Rizwan Arshad. During the same event, achievers from various fields—Hangarakatte Ibrahim Saheb, Chandrashekara Shetty Kundapura, Bipinchandra Pal Karkala, Geetha Suresh Kumar, Gerald Pinto, and Fathima Raliya—will be felicitated.Muhammad Moula said that by celebrating 25 years of continuous service toward social work, community unity, and interfaith harmony, the federation has achieved a long-held dream during this milestone year—establishing its own spacious office and hall. Through the generous support of donors and the relentless efforts of the federation’s office bearers, members and well-wishers, a permanent office has been set up near Jamia Masjid in the heart of Udupi city. The new office was inaugurated on Oct 4 by health minister UT Khader, he added.
