Mangaluru: A man who had been absconding for nearly seven years in connection with a theft case registered at Uppinangady police station was arrested in Panambur on Friday. Uppinangady police had registered a case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and accused Akram alias Boja Akram, a resident of Kasba Bengre in Mangaluru, had been absconding for nearly seven years without appearing before the court for trial.Uppinangady police station investigation-2 PSI Kaushik BC, along with staff members HC Shivarama Rai and PCMahadeva , traced and arrested the accused at Panambur in Mangaluru, and produced him before the court. The court has remanded the accused in judicial custody. Three cases are registered against the accused at Panambur police station and one case at Ullal police station.
