Mangaluru: The chappara muhurtha ceremony for the fifth edition of ‘Kudlada Pili Parba-2026’ was held at Nehru Maidan on Sunday. Kudla Samskruthika Prathishtana is organising the event under the guidance of former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and the leadership of MLA D Vedavyas Kamath.MLA Kamath said the spirit of Tiger Dance, or Pili Vesha, pervades Tulunadu during Dasara, and it was a matter of pride that the traditional art form had gained popularity not only across the region, but also nationally and internationally.He said the fifth edition of Pili Parba, scheduled to be held on Oct 18, aims to celebrate Tulunadu’s rich cultural heritage and introduce its traditions to the younger generation. He wished all participating Tiger Dance teams success, and welcomed the public to attend the event and encourage the performers.Kudla Samskruthika Prathishtana honorary president Giridhar Shetty, president Diwakar Pandeshwar, and members Naresh Shenoy, Yatheesh Baikampady, Kamalaksha Bajilakeri, Kiran Shenoy, Naresh Prabhu, Jagadish Kadri and Lalith Mendon were present.
