Bengaluru: As the country pushes to transform cutting-edge research into globally competitive technologies, the city will host the 14th edition of Bengaluru India Nano from Aug 3 to 5, with renewed focus on convergence of nanotechnology and artificial intelligence and on accelerating commercialisation of research through collaborations among academia, industry, startups and investors.Ahead of the summit, organised by Karnataka govt, minister for home, electronics, IT & BT Priyank Kharge said the state has consistently demonstrated how scientific excellence, backed by progressive policies and industry collaboration, can create transformative impact.“As technologies such as AI and nanotechnology increasingly converge, Karnataka is committed to creating an ecosystem where frontier research translates into globally competitive products, sustainable industries and solutions that improve lives,” Kharge said at the curtain-raiser held at Vidhana Soudha Saturday.

The three-day event is on the theme, “Nanotech’s Next Frontier: AI & Beyond – Conceive, Converge, Commercialize.” It is expected to attract 1,000 delegates, 80 speakers from India and abroad, participants from at least 10 countries, 50 exhibitors and over 4,000 attendees.Govt to form working groups for AI useKharge said govt will set up two working groups to leverage AI for improving public service. They will be formed with the centre for e-governance and home department to identify priority cases.The minister said he visited Anthropic AI office in Bengaluru and that discussions for expanding AI skilling across the state through Claude certifications for students, professionals and enterprises are being considered to enable startups and developers leverage Anthropic’s AI tools.
