Mangaluru: Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has appointed Kishore Alva as chairman of its Karnataka state council for the 2026–27 term.Alva has over three decades of experience across multinational corporations, energy, infrastructure and international trade. He has held leadership and strategic roles at Cogentrix, CLP-I, Unocal 76 and the US-India Business Council (USIBC), contributing to business development, policy advocacy and institutional strengthening.He earlier served as president of Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce in 2018–19, promoting industry-led initiatives, policy dialogue and stakeholder engagement. Alva is currently the executive director and president of the Adani Group in Karnataka and has also headed University Councils in the state.As chairman, he will lead efforts to boost industry growth, improve ease of doing business and strengthen industry–govt collaboration. His focus areas are expected to include investments, MSMEs, innovation and policy advocacy aligned with Karnataka’s economic priorities. He emphasised building a resilient, future-ready industrial ecosystem through technology, sustainability and global partnerships.
