Udupi/ Mangaluru: A car driver died after his vehicle collided with a truck at Pangala in Kaup taluk in Udupi on Friday. The deceased is Shreyas Achar.According to complainant Manjunath Gowda from Ron taluk, who works as a truck driver, he was driving his truck towards Udupi on the Mangaluru-Udupi NH-66 when the incident took place at 12:30am. The car driver, Shreyas Achar, driving his car recklessly from Mangaluru towards Udupi, collided with the left rear side of the truck driven by the complainant. As a result, the front right side of the car was completely damaged, and Achar got trapped in the driver’s seat and suffered severe head injuries. Darwin and Surya, who were in the car, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the govt hospital in Udupi for treatment. The doctors at the hospital examined and declared that Shreyas is dead.A case has been registered at Kaup police station.Auto driver dies in accidentAn autorickshaw driver died after the vehicle he was driving overturned at Badagakaranduru village, Belthangady taluk, on Thursday. The deceased is Devappa, 35. When a dog suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle, Devappa abruptly applied the brakes. This caused the autorickshaw to lose control and overturn, resulting in an accident. The driver was trapped under the autorickshaw, sustaining injuries to his face, left hand, chest area and legs. Devappa was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Venoor Police registered a case.
