UDUPI: The family of Alwin Prakash Kunder, who was murdered in the UAE, alleged that money was withdrawn from Alwin’s bank account even after his death.Alwin was murdered in July and the body was found inside the boot of his Toyota car, which had been abandoned on a road leading towards Oman.Anil Prashanth Kunder, brother of the deceased, said, “Money was withdrawn from his account even after his death. We don’t have the information on how much was withdrawn. We have not received any updates regarding the investigation. We received Alwin’s death certificate but FIR copy has not arrived yet,” he said.Anil said that the body of Alwin will arrive in the morning, around 4:30am, on Friday.He said that the family has not received any updates related to the investigation. The authorities in Sharjah have completed all the formalities related to shifting Alwin’s body to India, he added.Alwin had been married to Tina Kunder for around 20 years. The couple have a son studying in Class 10, while Tina worked as a schoolteacher there. Anil said that though Tina is in India, the family has been unable to contact her.Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Kota Shrinivas Poojary said that he has contacted the Ministry of External Affairs and made arrangements to establish contacts with the Sharjah Embassy.“Those who are behind this brutal murder should be brought before the law and punished soon. Meanwhile, the investigation also should throw light on the whereabouts and role of Alwin’s wife and son. I have sent a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar,” he added.
