Mangaluru: Belthangady assembly constituency in Dakshina Kannada district has successfully completed the generation and delivery of notices under SIR of electoral rolls. The taluk generated 12,454 notices regarding various discrepancies, and all were delivered to the respective voters as of Saturday.The district has 16,46,387 voters in the draft SIR voter list, including 2,17,959 voters in Belthangady constituency, 1,93,691 in Moodubidire, 2,23,296 in Mangaluru City North, 2,06,493 in Mangaluru City South, 1,95,011 in Mangaluru, 2,11,744 in Bantwal, 2,01,574 in Puttur and 1,96,619 voters in Sullia segment.The district generated 1,50,128 notices for various discrepancies, including parent age difference, progeny age gap, grandparent age difference, unmapped with last SIR, name mismatch, and ASDD (absent, shifted, deceased, and duplicate). While the district has distributed 1,46,855 notices, 3,274 remain for delivery.Officials said that no notices pertaining to SIR discrepancies are pending for generation or delivery in Belthangady constituency. Mangaluru City South constituency generated the highest number of notices against voters. While the constituency has 2,06,493 voters in the draft list, notices have been generated for 35,182 electors. While officials have delivered notices to 34,754 voters, only 428 are remaining for delivery.Mangaluru City North constituency generated discrepancy notices against 27,911 voters in the draft list in the constituency, but 1,304 electors are yet to receive the same. Bantwal recorded the lowest number of notices. Notices were generated against only 9,047 out of 2,11,744 voters, and 103 are yet to receive them. In Sullia, out of 1,96,619 voters, notices were generated against 13,016, and only 56 are yet to be delivered.Officials said that as per the election commission’s schedule, the process of notice generation and hearing of voters should be completed by Oct 22.
