Bengaluru: A member of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) legal cell has lodged a complaint with cybercrime police, alleging that a defamatory Instagram video targeted Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi.According to the complaint filed by Siddaraju, some comments on the July 16 post contained obscene, sexually explicit and derogatory language targeting Rahul, while others included vulgar remarks that undermined the dignity of women.Based on the complaint, the cyber crime police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act and Section 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace).A senior police officer said efforts have been initiated to have the video removed from the platform, while further investigation is underway to trace the administrator of the Instagram account.
