BENGALURU: Three persons were arrested after the Central Crime Branch (CCB) busted an alleged rave party at a villa in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout, where participants were allegedly found consuming alcohol, using prohibited hookah products and electronic cigarettes, and violating noise regulations, police said on Wednesday.The Narcotics Wing of the CCB arrested Dikshit, Vedant Pandit and Shankar for allegedly organising the event without obtaining permission from the competent authority and allowing the use of prohibited hookah products and electronic cigarettes.According to the FIR registered at HSR Layout police station, the accused had booked the villa for around Rs 20,000 and organised the party without the required permissions.Police said the CCB’s Women and Narcotics Squad conducted the raid on Tuesday night based on specific intelligence.Investigators said the organisers circulated invitations through a mobile application and charged an entry fee of Rs 1,099 for men and Rs 499 for women.During the raid, officials allegedly found participants consuming alcohol, using prohibited hookah products and electronic cigarettes, besides playing loud music in violation of the law.Police seized hookah products, electronic cigarettes and liquor from the villa.A separate case has also been registered against the villa owner for allegedly allowing the premises to be used for the event.The FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965, the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003, and the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019.Officials said those who attended the party have undergone medical examinations, and their statements are being recorded as part of the probe.Further investigation is underway.(With PTI inputs)
