NMPA celebrates 50 MMT milestone, honours port stakeholders

Mangaluru: New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) held its Annual Awards Nite 2025–26, recently at the Business Development Centre in Panambur, recognising the contribution of port users, terminal operators, shipping agents, stevedores, importers, exporters and other stakeholders in achieving its highest-ever cargo handling of over 50 million metric tonnes (MMT) in 2025–26.Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME chairperson, New Mangalore Port Authority, Deendayal Port Authority and Indian Ports Association, was the chief guest. He congratulated the port community on achieving the historic milestone and a fitting accomplishment during its golden jubilee year.He expressed confidence that with continued collaboration, the port would meet its target of 53 MMT in 2026–27, and further strengthen its position among major ports in the country.Awards were presented to outstanding performers across categories, including, importers, exporters, terminal operators, shipping agents, stevedores, customs house agents (CHAs), logistics partners and other port users for their significant contribution towards the port’s record-breaking performance were awarded.The programme was presided over by S Shanthi, deputy chairperson, NMPA, while Padmanabhachar K, CVO-NMPA, attended as the guest of honour.
