Mangaluru: Puttur Block Congress and its block social media wing lodged a complaint at the Puttur Town police station against Mahesh Vikram Hegde for allegedly posting defamatory content targeting Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai and spreading misinformation to create a false impression of the state govt and the home minister.The complaint was submitted by Supreeth Kannaraya, president of the Puttur assembly constituency social media wing.According to the complaint, Hegde has been maliciously misusing text and photographs to falsely imply that the Puttur MLA instigated a recent heinous crime in Bantwal. The complainant stated that these posts are deliberately designed to mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of the local MLA, the state govt, and the home minister.The Congress delegation demanded strict legal action against the accused.
