BENGALURU: Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot on Tuesday returned the file seeking sanction to prosecute former housing minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan to the Lokayukta. The reason: the entire investigation report and related documents were in Kannada.“Seeking an authenticated translation into English from the Lokayukta, since they conducted the entire investigation, the Governor has returned the file to the quasi judicial body,” said Lok Bhavan officials.According to sources, while a few witness statements were recorded in English, the majority of the documents was in Kannada and hence returned for resubmission.The Lokayukta earlier last week had sought sanction for prosecution against Zameer in a disproportionate assets case between 2005 and 2018 wherein Rs 25 crore was found linked to the IMA scam.
