DK khazi Twaqa Ahmad Musliyar passes away
Dakshina Kannada District khazi Alhaj Twaqa Ahmad Musliyar died at a private hospital in the city on Tuesday

TIMES NEWS NETWORKMangaluru: Dakshina Kannada khazi Alhaj Twaqa Ahmad Musliyar died at a private hospital in the city on Tuesday. He was 78.Musliyar, who took charge as the khazi of Dakshina Kannada in 2010, was heading over 200 Jama-Aths in Dakshina Kannada and parts of Kerala. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.His body was kept for the public to pay their last respect at the Zeenath Baksh Central Juma Masjid in the city. The body was taken to his native place at Melparamba in Kasaragod. After his family members and disciples pay their respects, the mortal remains will be moved at midnight and brought to Kashipatna near Moodubidire, where the burial ceremony will take place after 8am, said health minister UT Khader.“Musliyar, who provided long-term religious guidance to Muslims in Dakshina Kannada, dedicated his entire life to religion, education, and social service, serving as a beacon to thousands. His simplicity, profound knowledge, and spirit of harmony were an inspiration to everyone. His passing away is an immense loss not only to theMuslim community, but to society as a whole. His role in strengthening peace, harmony, and religious values in society was of utmost significance,” said Khader.Meanwhile, chief minister DK Shivakumar has expressed his condolences on the passing of Musliyar. “Musliyar was recognized not only for his religious involvement, but also for his contributions to education and social work. Thousands of people have shaped their lives under his guidance,” the CM said.
