Mangaluru: Under the Union govt’s Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) scheme, a newly developed road in the Parakkalu Koraga Colony, spanning the Ramakunja, Perabe, and Alankar gram panchayat limits in Kadaba taluk, was inaugurated. The road, constructed at a cost of Rs 2.7 crore, was inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta, alongside Sullia MLA Bhagirathi Murulya and Chomu, a senior woman from the Koraga community.Speaking on the occasion, MP Chowta said that the central govt, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is advancing the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. He explained that the ‘PM-JANMAN’ scheme, launched in 2023, aims to provide infrastructure to marginalised, exploited, and tribal families who have been neglected in the country. He added, “Based on this scheme’s guidelines, areas with a high population of Jenu Kuruba and Koraga communities are identified through surveys. Steps are being taken for their holistic development by providing the necessary infrastructure, including roads, in those regions. Accordingly, the road development work has now been completed in the Parakkalu Koraga Colony.”Capt Chowta further said that the Pradhan Mantri JANMAN scheme is a remarkable concept. “The vision and goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s govt are to ensure that every member of the tribal community benefits from govt schemes. Previously, development works were often carried out with calculations based on vote-bank politics. However, after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, scores of schemes have been implemented with the primary goal of developing the most marginalised and exploited people in society without any discrimination,” he added.
