Bengaluru: A 58-year-old woman lost her life in a tragic accident after falling from the terrace of her house. The deceased, Pramila Bai, 58, a resident of Prakash Nagar in Rajajinagar, on June 18 climbed the building terrace on the second floor to cut the branches of a nearby tree stretching over her house for some time. Pramila lost her balance as she was standing at the edge of the roof, which was without a parapet, and fell to the ground at 5pm. She sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. Her husband claimed Sunday that despite making repeated requests to the authorities concerned to trim the branches, no action was taken. Frustrated by the delay, Pramila decided to do it herself. While standing on the terrace, she accidentally stepped onto an asphalt sheet covering a room below, causing her to plunge from the terrace.A case of unnatural death report (UDR) was registered at Rajajinagar police station, and an investigation is under way. “Pramila’s son has filed a complaint and has not made any allegations against the officials or anyone. During our visit to the spot, we found that the house did not have a parapet on the terrace for safety,” a senior officer said.
