MP Chowta visits Wenlock District Hospital

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta visited the Wenlock District Hospital on Thursday to inspect the intensive care unit (ICU) building and other projects being constructed with central government funding.The MP said a special public outreach campaign has been organised to mark the completion of 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration. As part of this campaign, I have come to inspect the Rs 24 crore intensive care unit being built under the central govt’s ABHIM (Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission) scheme, the Rs 1.3 crore Integrated Health Lab project, and an additional Rs 10 crore project by MRPL at Wenlock hospital, he said.“I have reviewed the progress of these three projects. The first two projects will be completed within three months. The tender for the MRPL project has been finalised, and work will begin shortly. In total, projects worth Rs 35 crore are becoming a reality. After the construction is complete, we will sit down with the district health officer (DHO) and the superintendent of Wenlock hospital to discuss providing equipment and staffing,” he added.Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath and Wenlock hospital superintendent Dr Shivaprakash DS were present.
