7 pups of wolf Geetha on display at Pilikula

Mangaluru: Three months after their birth, seven Indian wolf pups at Pilikula Biological Park are now active and on display, marking a milestone in the park’s conservation efforts.According to Pilikula Development Authority in-charge commissioner Dr Arun Kumar Shetty, in Jan, an Indian wolf named Geetha gave birth to seven pups, four males and three females. Indian wolves have been housed at the park for the past three years, and this marks the first successful breeding of the species there, making it a milestone in the park’s conservation and captive breeding efforts. The mother wolf and all seven pups are healthy and doing well. They are being closely monitored by veterinarians and animal caretakers. The pups are now active and moving around freely, and have been released for public viewing.
